The Governor announced that Pennsylvania is still on track to lift the masking order on June 28.
Here is what Berks East Gymnastics is planning with regards to masks this summer (subject to changes due to any new orders or more information):
Starting on June 28: Masks will be optional for gymnasts, coaches and parents (you may choose to wear them or not).
(While gymnasts ages 11 and under don’t have a choice to be vaccinated or not, we do ask that adults who have chosen not to be vaccinated to continue to wear masks while inside Berks East Gymnastics for the safety of others.)
This week the CDC issued guidance saying unvaccinated children should still wear masks, but the Chester County Health Department has said masks should be optional for everyone this summer.
Although this policy may change if there is a spike in covid cases, we are hopeful that incidence rates will remain very low and masks will not be required throughout the summer, fall and beyond.
We still need to remain vigilant. Anyone who feels sick with cough and covid symptoms should remain out of the gym.
We will be discontinuing the taking of temperatures when entering the building, however we do ask that you do not come to the gym if any of the following questions are answered with a yes:
Have you had any of the following, please do not allow your child to come to gymnastics:
Fever or chills
Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
Muscle or body aches
New loss of taste or smell
Congestion or runny nose
Nausea or vomiting
- Been in contact with anyone known to have tested positive for Covid-19
- Tested positive for the Covid-19 virus in the last 10 days
Gymnasts and staff MUST wash their hands for 20 seconds before leaving the bathroom.
*Office staff will regularly clean bathrooms as needed*
For the health and safety of all, it is preferred that parents not enter the lobby area for the time being, until restrictions are relaxed. However, we realize we cannot prohibit parents from watching their children per SafeSport policy.
Please be prompt when picking up your child so that we can maintain our ratio in the gym.
